My bike has that noise thing under the gas tank that makes it go. I like it.

And I imagine 300 HP on a street HD would be as much fun as it sounds.

That's quite a rant but 1400 or so cubic CENTIMETERS equates to 200hp now on a bike. 300hp from 1.4L is done via forced induction.

All the HD needs is water cooling and 4-valve heads for hp well over 100.

The fob is no different than what is available on many cars. Read the directions and make sure the battery isn't dead.

Totally incorrect about 6th gear. And it still isn't an OD gear.

how many tcs have you seen on the side of the ride due to scissored cranks? i've not seen any, but you make it sound like if you have a twin cam, then its just waiting to happen.

i don't (didn't when stock) have decel pop, my tbw doesn't lag, and i didn't have to go to the dealer for my improvements.

no, my bike is not stock any more, i have a fm 107 kit, with a powervision tuner, and se ac. if i change anything, i don't have to go to the dealer to remap, i can do it myself. and a dyno tune afterwards is not a necessity, i'm not a racer, i don't have to wring every 1/4 hp out of it.

what is so 'poorly thought out' about the security system? i've been using it for over 6 years and have never had a problem. and the only problems that i've seen are due to the end user not knowing how to use his own equipment and failure to read the owner's manual.

i've had no issue with compensators on the 4 tcs i've owned. though i did have an inner primary bearing replaced under warranty on one of them.

'the control of your own mechanical destiny is taken away'.... no, it isn't. you just have to get with the times. no, you aren't going to be able to fix your points on the side of the road with a matchbook anymore, but face it, this is 2013. technology has moved forward. don't be a luddite, move with it, instead of complaining about it.

and just because something is more modern than a kickstart, doesn't make it a goldwing wannabee. thank you very much.
x100. Take a look at the monthly list of recalls in Cycleworld. HD doesn't show up too often.

And that is fair, but for many, unforseen circumstances in life, job, family and even desire for technology/features, it makes a difference.

My Twink came with two fobs. They both live in a drawer in my office.

There are two kinds of Harley riders - those that have fobs, and those that want fobs.

I like the look of the old, yet the reliability of the new.

Even if you do all the labor yourself you can't touch the value of the CVO. Personally, I wouldn't spend the time keeping it clean enough to do it justice. And this is coming from a chrome *****. As it is, I've spent enough money on an '07 FXD to have owned a CVO. Oh, well, it's still fun throwing stupid money at it. Hell, I've only put 45,000 miles on it, so it's still "breaking-in."

We can hike our pants up, stomp around in circles, ranting about how Harley has lost its way. But consider that the bike are better in nearly every aspect. The only thing lacking is soul - and that's subjective. Regardless, mine shakes, vibrates, gurgles and pulls like a tractor. Much like yesteryear.

Cant touch the value of a CVO. Cause most folks cant afford it either.

I might get a new FOB but cant afford that $20,000 price. Everything I own is payed off, wife, House, trucks, Bike. I have $10k in a very nice fairly quick bike thats an everyday rider.
Im pretty happy for a poor man. I still have enough money to ride to the bar in LA or key west or Sturgis. All relative I guess.
