I got mine for about 900.00 below list but I did pay freight and set up. They did give me a thousand over book on my trade in. While I don't feel I got a super deal I don't feel ripped off either.

C&S Harley Davidson in Nashville. I do not know if he will do the same for out of state deals. I would think he would since all bikes on the floor are marked down and each has a tag saying no freight, set up or doc fees.

My apologies Chazzman for suggesting your info might not be legit. Specifics are always helpful if you share something others might want to get in on. IMHO posts that provide enough specifics others can benefit are the best.

I don't even know Chazzman, but he is absolutley correct. Competition in Nashville is fierce. We have seven Harley dealers, C&S, Boswell (3 locations), Cool Springs, Columbia, and Bumpus in the area. 2007 sporties are $500 under MSRP with no doc or delivery ($260 freight, $27.50 tags, + tax). Nightsters are at MSRP. V-Twins are $1000 under MSRP. See for yourself www.cshd.com . Boswells has 20% off everything in stock except bikes & labor. See for yourself at www.boswellsharley.com . Boswells also has a bunch of new 2006 XL1200L & XL1200C still in the crate for $8,495.
Cheers...

Just bought a used 2006 Heritage Softail with 2000 miles for $13000 from C&S. Really don't feel anyone can touch their prices locally. Good group to work with. New 2007 Super Glides going for 11,395.

Its kind of like the car business. Dealers bail in times of crisis to make sales. In doing so, they ruin the prices of our used bikes when we go to sell them. Deals like this drop the actual cash values of our scoots. Why buy a year old "used" Sportster when you can buy a crated 06 for the same price. Honda automobiles kept the resale value of their used cars at a premium for years by not offering the huge dealer incentives many of the other auto makers did. Ever see a rebate on a new Honda. I'm not condoning foreign makes, just some of their sales philosophies.

No harm done, I have purchased from 3 of the 4 dealers here and know them pretty well. I have owned 11 bikes in the past 6 years, I certainly am not bragging this is probably stupidity and addiction to motorcycles on my behalf. It would have been a lot smarter financially to have owned 1 bike for 6 years and trade for a new one now. I think the owner of C&S is a pretty smart guy. He still makes a ton selling the big twins at $1000 under MSRP and the volume increase will make up for the drop in sales so he will be right back to where he was a while back. The factory wants to sell motorcycles it doesn't affect them if he sells under MSRP so they will love him and his allocations will increase. There is a Honda dealer in Chattanooga that is the largest volume dealer in the US. They make about $100 per unit but make a ton on financing, extended warranties and accessories. There are people from all over the US going there to save big bucks. I was told that they sell over 1000 units per month. They also have a Victory Triumph store that does the same. The name is Southern Honda in case you want a 4 wheeler. They had Rocket III's last year with the tribal work on them for 12000.

Now I must decide before tomorrow if I want that NIGHTSTER or not!

JMPAN,
I believe that Harley opening the flood gates on production is whats killing the resale by owner. Five years ago you had to wait 18 months for a Road King. Today they will line up as many as you can chew, and have them at your doorstep by noon. How do figure that dealers shoving $500 bills in their pocket for rolling up the handlebars and pouring inoil helps us consumers?
Cheers
