I'm looking to install 18" Carlini Gangster apes on my 2004 fatboy and the local HD dealer is jerking me around. Do you recommend a good shop I can bring the bike to and have this done? I recently moved to Central, NJ in Monmouth County.
I'll give them a call... I basically need Carlini 18" apes, risers, and all cable work installed, I also need two chrome wheels, pulley and rotors installed. I have all the parts. How many hours would you say they need to get all that done? HD in Long Branch said 10hr just for the bars at $95 an hour (are they nuts)... Staten Island Harley wanted 4hours for bars but that didn't work since they're liars and I got into an argument with them.
If anyone knows of any other smaller shops that do great work please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
You really need to find a good Indy that is not full of himself. Bunches around me that would prolly charge $500 or less to do all you need done. Talk to some riders in your area to find out about an Indy or check CL.
a manual only costs like 65 bucks brand new, and u can get a set of tools from sears for like 150... have you given any thought into doing the work yourself? i too was in your shoes but i decided what the heck, why not give it a go?
DYNAM1C...I have the manual and I thought about doing the work my self, I've done a lot of work my self in the past but between family life, work etc. I just got no time. I'm also riding up to Americade in less than a month and would like the bike done by than.
electricstart....I called HD of Ocean, Nancy gave me a quote of about $1200 but I'm sure by the time they are done it will cost $1500.
I ended up taking mikelikesbikes advice and little did I know I have two friends on Facebook that do this part time out of their garage (i knew Facebook would come in handy someday) I already made appointments. I hope it all works out. I'll try to post some pictures of my bike right now and when it's done.
