Is it just impossbie to keep your bike scratch free??
Seems no matter how hard I try I get a scratch here and there.
Nothing big but just enough to drive you crazy...
I have to say that keeping the chrome free of defects is the hardest.
Am I the only one???
RE: Is it just impossbie to keep your bike scratch free??
Nope,
I never touch my gas tank and it seems everytime I come home there are new scratches on it. I am consantly waxing and trying to rub out the scratches. Mine is black too, so everything shows.

I will admit that scratches are part of life and there is nothing that you can do about them. I have a black Springer and I found one thing that helps on the spotting and streaking and a little on the scratches. I like black but I have seen people using what I thought was the wrong type of towel for drying, so I use something different to wash and dry my black tank. It's called a Spotless Dryer by Detailers Choice. I got it at Wally World and it does the best job of keeping my tank and fenders looking nice without the expense of using one of those blow dryers that have been advertised. It's just a real soft cloth, like a chamois. Works for me.

The wife got one for me at Wall Mart. They don't cost very much and I'm thinking about getting another.
