In the markett

I found a second hand Harley for sale that I may be interested in buying. It's a 2003 with only 19 yes 19 miles on it. I haven't talked to the owner just yet because I want to get a little insight from anyone out there. I haven't rode in over 20 years and don't want to buy a bike that needs work and with this bike I'm not sure that since it has been sitting for 10 years this may have caused problems in the engine. Like I said, I haven't talked to the owner to find out if he has even started it up periodically. Would love any input.

I'd be worried about dry rot on the brake lines and tires. Also, hopefully he changed the oil yearly, but that seems somewhat unlikely if he's only basically rode it home. If it hasn't been on a battery tender, I'd expect to have to buy a new battery.

At minimum, I think you're looking at a complete round of fluids.

if you buy it take it to the nearest Harley shop and have the cam chain Tensioners.
checked that will tell you if the seller changed out the speed-o-meter

You both have given me some great food for thought. Thank you. I never thought of the dry rot on the brake lines or the cam chain tensioners. I'll take note of everything.
