I live out in the country and ride mostly on roads that has very little traffic. For me it is best to ride solo. Just me and the bike, ready to take any road and stop any time. Sometimes the stop is just as good as the ride when I find a good location.
Riding with a buddy or two is fine though, but this happens rarely.
Can't understand the pleasure of driving in formation, it's like a queue right. Anyone likes queues? I shure don't...
I recently got back into riding when I got my first Harley and I want to mix it up once I meet some others that ride, but I am actually ok riding around alone most times, I am in my own place and roll at my own pace.
I think it's safer to ride alone. A nice empty road is pure pleasure. The less vehicles around the better, bikes included. Only exception is my wife on her Duc, but I can't keep up with her anyway so we mostly meet up at the scenic overlooks for the occasional quiky. Always a nice addition to the day.
Both! Well run group rides are enjoyable, especially if the destination is an interesting one. Solo rides are fun as well as I am not locked in on a schedule or itinerary.
I am not much of a "people person" myself..lol.. So if the group consist of more than 3 or 4 people, there is a good chance I am not going to like somebody For that reason I ride most of the time by myself......
I hate riding with groups...I feel you have to not only watch out for normal hazards along the way..I have to watch out for the idiots on bikes with me!

I ride alone most of the time. There are only 1 bro I WANT to ride with because we have everything in sync. My pack days are over.. I don't even ride in toy runs anymore. Too many strangers that shouldn't be riding. I'll help with traffic or whatever but not getting in the pack.
