I don't mind sharing the road / ride with a buddy on his own bike. I actually enjoy aimlessly following someone else's lead. Or even when riding out front and picking the route with another tagging along.
I don't like group rides or splitting a lane, or switching lead bike back and forth when riding with a friend.
About half the miles on my bike are solo, and the other half is with my better half, both of which are relaxing.
I enjoy taking stops when I like. I enjoy having someone else to take a break and chat with.
And I prefer taking the "road less traveled" and staying off the highways where you feel like your on pins and needles driving fast with others always going by even faster.

Mainly solo for me too, for all the reasons given. I do have a couple of sets of friends that I ride with in groups of 3 and sometimes 4 (Including myself.) on occasion.
Don't like to ride with much more than that and my Rides for Causes experiences were cluster F!'s and I really do not want to do any again.
Me, my bike, and a back road, nothing finer. I like to explore and meander; it would probably annoy those that have to know where they are and how they are going to get to DESTINATION A.
Often I only have a vague idea of the direction home, no idea of where the road I am on leads to (And they sometimes just "Run out) but I have a tank of gas, sunshine, my cell phone and wallet. Good enough.
Solo most of the time for the same reasons mentioned before. Did a couple of 2k trips last year solo and loved it. Even though I was riding by myself with all of the other riders out there it was fun to meet them.
