I think I am in the minority when it comes to riding on the highway. I really enjoy getting on the highway, setting the cruise control and just riding. I enjoy the back roads also but sometimes the highway is just as enjoyable to me.
I'm with you. Don't get me wrong, I like the back roads with the twisties, but there is something to be said about getting up on the high way, setting the cruise control to 75, crank up the music, and just cruise to no where.
I have no problem riding interstates. As much as i like back roads, i think interstates are saver, at least as far as wild life goes. When i do back roads, i look for deer and dogs so hard, that i feel I'm neglecting the road. Just had a German Shepard run out right in front of me and charge me, yesterday. Second dog in the last 2 weeks on a back road. I'll do interstates anytime!

It is a two edged sword. Superslab to get there in a hurry. Once to the destination, two lane travel. when done and have to get back, you have a choice, take your time or haul ***. I ride both and enjoy both. Depends on time, destination, and journey.

There's nothing better then hitting the highway and shifting into high gear for a couple of hours. Getting your bike up to speed and watching the scenery go by. Feeling the wind blowing over you and the bike. Checking out scenery on a road you may drive in your car, but never noticed before. Like a lake or stream hidden behind some trees. Traffic all moving in the same direction with little chance of someone turning into your path. The miles get added in the easiest way, with momentum carrying you along. Gas stops seem more of a annoyance then necessity . And when you get back home after a few hundred miles, your more relaxed and clear headed. That's what highway ridding will do to ya.,,
