My batteries tell me that five years or more is a good life. I will admit to trickle charging a battery every once in awhile for a few hours if I haven't used that boat in a month or so. With four boats made for different uses--they tend to sit sometimes. The only time I ever charged up my motorcycle batteries is when they sat almost three months while I was laid up with an arm in a cast. Both of them received an overnight two amp recharge. I am on my second battery on a 98 Wideglide[13 years]. I am also on the second battery on an 03 Heritage[10 years]. Do the math. Not using a battery tender has really worked well for me. Your batteries--your money. Use a tender if you like. I don't. I never have. The people I ride with some do. I get to listen to them complain that their battery's don't hold up. It might be the difference in climate and riding year around.

This is my first issue with it... I've used a tender the past few winters and had no troubles..... This battery is not an acid filled it is a solid battery...Haven't had it out recently and do not remember if it's a gel battery...
I live in Central Pa near Harrisburg.. I keep my bike in a garage over the winter and in a cycle shell when I'm not riding...
Since your battery is so recent, why don't you take the battery out of the bike and take it to your local H-D dealership and ask them to check and charge your battery?
If it's bad they'll tell you but hopefully all you'll need is a good charge
My wife had a '99 Sportster that sat in our garage over the winter with regular charging (I didn't have a battery tenders then) and the battery wouldn't charge on my two battery chargers.
The battery was still under warranty but the service manager said they could charge it and darned if they didn't!
So I had the trickle charger on it all day Saturday, Took the battery out this morning to check for unseen corrosion and did not find any.. Put the bettery back in and it fired right up the way it should... Advance Auto said they could check the battery ti I brought it to them out of the bike... Still may do that..
