I wish I would have waited and did more looking when I got mine. At the time, I didn't there was a 5" one like you had.
Chickin--I prefer the 3". I thought a lot about the 3" versus 5" when I bought mine, and eventually decided that the looks (form) of the 3" was more important to me than the function of the extra 2 inches. The 5 inches just looks too bulky. If I need more space I'll start looking at saddle bags. Stick with what you have--looks great.
Garage Leathers is 4". I have the 3" Leatherworks and a Garage Leathers solo bag.
As soon as I make a new diamond plate mount to shift the bag rearward, the Garage leather will replace the Leatherworks. (going with an axle mounted license plate instead the swingarm mount which forced a more forward bag mount)
Both are well made, but the Garage Leathers bag is thicker leather.
Either is well made, but I ordered a Garage leather to see what difference there was.
The Garage leather is more $, but it looks as if the difference in price is in line with the quality received.
As mentioned by others, the Leatherworks solo bags are nice quality and we have had good experience with them. We actually feature one on our website that was used with our Solo Mount swingarm bag hard mount kit (also mentioned earlier in this thread). The Garage Leathers are very nice as well, as are Bad & G. Viking Bags also makes a decent swingarm bag, if you are budget conscious. We carry them on our site and have had good feedback about them. They are quite a bit cheaper than the others, but also are synthetic leather and very weather resistant and durable. Plus, they have a solid backing which works very well with our hard mount kit. Definitely not the quality of the Leatherworks and others, but nice for the price.
If anyone is interested, here are a few pics and a link to our Solo Mount hard mount kit for Softails. We also have a kit for Dynas as well. Like others have said, if you're handy you can fab up a mounting kit yourself. If not, we've gone ahead and taken all of the guesswork and trial and error out of it and designed a kit that fits many different bags and comes already powder coated and with all of the hardware you need.
Here's a pic and a link to the Viking Bag on our site:

hahaha This is no lie, I was just going to post a comment for this very product on here; I posted on the Fat Boy Lo thread and was coming here to do the very same thing.
To be fair, I haven't yet ordered the mount because I am in still in Afg and and I just found the mount about an hour ago but I am going to...I have been waiting MONTHS for something like this. I haven't liked the idea of trying to fab a mount myself and couldn't believe that someone hasn't developed one prior to this.
Anyway, this is good in concept, I am looking around to see if anyone has ordered it and can give a review; I plan on ordering one for my ride.

Dave, I was right there with you for a few weeks while I read the threads about fabricating the mounts versus buying the dead creek mount. Money aside, I wanted only one plate on the outside, and also wanted the position to be higher than the position on the dead creek mount.
Check out my thread with my mod--everything was bought at the local hardware store and cost about 31 dollars. I also link to related threads.
If you can cut, file, sand, and paint 16 gauge sheet metal then you have the skills to build a mount to your personal specs...

I had the stainless in the garage. Bought the bolts and extensions at Homer's. Made my own with the help of the posts here. Unfortunately, I drag the sucker and wore the stitching off. Now I need to get it sewn up. I had to raise the bracket and bag 1/2" each.
