Default quick radio hook up question

Just finish up hooking a kenwood radio and polk speakers in a removable fairing on a 08 RK. Everything looks great, Question is the red wire needs to go on and off with the ignition(black is ground and yellow is constant positive to keep radio presets). what wire and where is it that i can run off of. I have the tank dash off currently, so is there a wire i can tap off of under there or in the headlight nacelle? thanks in advance. Ed.

When I instaled mine I cam off the wire that is always hot and hooked it to a chrome toggle switch that I instaled in the fairing.

On mine I hooked the constant positive to battery, ground to battery and switched to a fuse.

Also mite want to check ur colers again I was thinking yellow was acsilary red was constant. Could be wrong its been a while since I did any radios. Also did u instal something so the wires can be disconected when u want or need to remove the fairing. I used the tipe of pkug that looks like a trailer light plug but only has 2 wires insted of 4

Agree about the wire colors. My detachable fairing has a quick disconnect for the radio.
