I have a '92 Fatboy with an 80" motor. The only thing I did to the motor was an EV27 cam.
I did extensive testing with my Supertrapp 2:1 to get the best midrange torque for passing or riding 2 up.
I ended up with the perfect setup for my bike which is 15 disks with the closed endcap and for an open endcap remove 8-10 disks.
I see guys riding with 20 disks and an open endcap, which is basically a dragpipe, because there is no restriction at all, so don't be afraid to remove some disks to add some backpressure and improve the midrange.
