Default Rally Question....do ya stay, or do ya go?

If ya live in a place where a big rally is held do ya look forward to it coming, or do ya plan a trip out of town.

A rally is a good time with a town full of like minded people. The worst draw back is traffic. But knowing the back roads make up for it.

The ROT is here in Austin and I was looking forward to it coming before I got my bike, now not so much. I know people that have there tickets and can't wait and are planning on camping and they live here. I was asked if I was going and all I could think of was "I live here", to me a rally involves riding somewhere. Not riding roads I ride all the time or drinking at bars I go to all the time.

Ya stay, get out the folding lawn chair and watch the parade of out of town riders. I always kinda like when I can just go look at a zillion bikes when possible. However, I know when its time to go.

A rally is a rally. I like the vendors...sometimes good deals can be had. Stick around.

I live very near Daytona and I'm heading down in a little bit to check out the vendors. It's a good time because you get to hang with people from elsewhere and maybe show them around a little. The "rally" down here (I don't get the whole rally name) is much bigger than most places if you know where to go. You can go in any direction but east from Daytona for over an hour and there is stuff happening in the country. I like to ride and it's good entertainment twice a year.

When in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, lots of people pack it up and leave town. Now if you really dig Mardi Gras you look forward to two weeks of insanity, and lots of bikes and other things.

I'll most likely be out at ROT again this year. Friday night downtown is fun watching everyone cook their bikes in that "Guiness World Records Motorcycle Parade" or whatever. Last year I worked the rally and didn't enjoy it at all. This year, I'm just going to have fun.

I stopped camping out at the really big commercial rallies just cuz I don't like being around big crowds of people that much. I'll camp at smaller, club rallies or weekend charity rallies.

Precisely why we live where we do.There are so many places to get away from it all.Other than having to just get out of town the hassle is always worth it.
