The Utopia/Police seat setup doesn't work that way. The backrest upright is bolted to the bottom of the seat bracket. And the police seat height is 31.5", so it is already "up there". The folding down thing may work for me. Otherwise, I'm just going to have to figure it out.

Mine is a Mustang and I love it - best mod I've ever done and don't want to ride without it. not sure about the others but mine is easily removable if/when you don't want to use it. has infinite adjustment front to back and 3 height adjustments - but I find I rarely change any of the positions.

If you have back problems while riding I find the biggest difference is just strengthening you core muscles through walking, running and exercise like sit ups. These are the muscles that support your back and control your posture. With stronger core muscles your back will remain straighter and you will not have any pain.

I bought one a couple years ago. I only have one thing to say about it..... It's the cat's meow.

Once you go back rest, you never go back.

It's easy to get on the bike. Sometimes I run at it from behind and "leap frog" the tourpack like the cowboys did in those old westerns (much harder to do if Cheryl is already sitting on the bike). When I don't do that I just step my leg over the seat from the high side and sit. Pretty easy.

I won't ride without one and I agree with it being the single most important mod for comfort. Every once in a while I look at it and think it doesn't look that good sticking up like that, but then I say "who cares".
Being 6'6", I don't have a problem swinging my leg over top of the back rest, but I sure do understand the issue of doing that if you are shorter or if you have challenges with your knees.

Nevada, I need to try the vault mount method you describe. That would be something to see!

Now there's a thought. It's not like I'm ever going to have any more kids anyway, right?

The key is to have the back rest that folds forward like the Mustang. Just in case. The Moco adjustable one has a shock. If you miss, it will hammer your boys into next week.
