Default Shipping Time - What's Reasonable?

I won't name names yet but I'd like you guys opinion on what is reasonable.

I ordered my 107 kit last Tuesday...February 27 after being told that everything was in stock except the camshaft. The cam allegedly would only take a day or 2 to arrive and then they would ship the whole thing at once.

It is now going to be 9 days later tomorrow and as of today it still hasn't shipped and they are still waiting for the camshaft. They did offer on day 7 that they had forgotten to order the camshaft. No apology was offered...just an oops.

I have been reasonably patient as things take time but I am starting to get irritated after being told it was IN stock and ready to go. Nine days later I still don't have my parts and Idon't even know that it will ship tomorrow either. If it does ship on Thursday it will be next week before I receive them putting it to the TWO week mark from ordering parts to receiving them.

I don't think that's a sign of a good company and I might be starting to regret my choice. Before I get all wadded up.....what's your opinion....reasonable or unreasonable considering I was told these parts were on the shelf (except camshaft but that would show within 2 days) and I still don't have them.

Personally I would figure 2-4 days to process the order, 1 more to get it shipped and, depending on what shipper is being used, up to 5 days shipping. All of these would be business days. If they screw up, like forgetting to order something like your cam, all you can do is cancel or wait long enough for them to go through their ordering/receiving process. What I find is the most important is communication. Leaving a guy hanging, sitting and waiting without a word edgewise makes it frustrating. Sometimes, if the deal is right, all you can do is wait. Recently I ordered some parts from Chicago HD. They then informed me they had to get the parts from HD and as soon as it came in to them, probably a week, they would let me know and ship it out. 5 business days later I got an email they had received it and it was shipped UPS. I got it the next day, today. On the other hand I ordered something from a guy in Texas, who sent it priority mail and it took 21 business days. But he followed up, kept in touch, so it wasn't so bad. You never know....

THey haven't contacted me once since the original order.....I have called them daily for the last few days as I expected my parts by now. I had to reschedule the build with the shop doing the job.

It's irritating the hell out of me actually....I am just trying to be nice.

i think your unreasonable. Personally if you ordered on the 27th, If everything WAS in stock it probably not gone out till the 1st on Thursday. You mentioned the cam was not in stock. and that they had to order it. If they ordered that on Thursday it may not have even came in till MONDAY at the EARLIEST. Since they said they never ordered it which you call the 7th day in ACTUALLY only 2 days late for ordering. You CANNOT count weekends. NO ONE ships or works in this undustry on the weekends. Personally if you do nto like them move on but you are being way unreasonable.

I agree with VegasHD.

Give it a bit more time. They haven't contacted you because you have called them every day.
What were they going to do? Call and say 'Hi!'?

Anyhow, if you didn't notice the other post... Shooter at Cateye customs was ranting on how the suppliers don't seem to be sending the parts on time either.
Pissing him and his customers off.

Well, I disagree that your being WAAAY unreasonable, they could have called you and let you know what was going on. People make mistakes and **** happens but they should have let you know something. That being said you calling every day isn't helping matter's either...relax and let it run its course.

I placed an order from Chicago HD 13 days ago. Some parts were out of stock, so had to come from HD. I can accept that. Finally, yesterday I received the UPS tracking number. However, that number is stilll not pulling any info down off the UPS website. SO, did it really ship or has it just been invoiced and I must continue to wait?

I have gotten MUCH better results from Zanotti (for HD parts) and Eastern Performance (for aftermarket)...Hale HD in Ohio has also been very good for both HD and aftermarket parts/accessories...

Chi HD is gonna have to come up to speed very quickly or they're gonna be history on future orders...

I disagree....it's now 8 business days later....and they still haven't received the cam at their place and now as of today told me it would be next week before they receive it. This after telling me it would be a day or two once they discovered it had never been ordered.

I don't dislike them and I am not going to name the business as that might not be fair yet....but I don't think I am being unreasonable...especially considering I have yet to hear even as much as a hey....we're sorry we screwed up.
