Doing some work on my bars and front end so the bike is up on the lift right now. I've got the clutch, lever, and mount removed from the bars but not removed from the bike, I've moved that assembly over and out of the way and have just had it sitting under the bike. I go out today and there's a puddle under the bike that appears to be coming from the clutch cable but I'm not 100% sure.
My suspicion is that since the cable and everything associated with it has been lower than the point where it connects to the transmission that it has been acting as sort of a drain and just slowly been leaking transmission fluid. Can anyone confirm that's likely what it would be? Doesn't appear to be a whole lot, would I need to add more fluid?
Please tell me you're kidding.
You are not really proposing the theory that the clutch cable is so syphoning the oil out of the transmission, are you?
Is that what you asked?
Really?
Before I ask more silly questions (yeah, I'm asking silly questions) please tell me what you're doing to the handle bars. AND please tell me you're just kinda helping your buddy, who's "good with tools" do whatever it is you're doing to the handlebars.
No! There is NO WAY the clutch cable is syphoning the oil out of the transmission.
That's just where your buddy, who's "good with tools" spilled his beer!
