Default help me out, im lost

ok so many times on this forum, when everyone is talking tech stuff, whether its primary or starter and at times timing.. i keep hearing the word compensator, i feel dumb asking this, but will someone please explain to me what you are all talking about? is it some kind of spacing plate or slack adjuster?? i have look in my manual for my dyna and cant seem to find what is being talked about

please excuse my ignorance, but i to am still learning and will never stop

Simply put. It is the front sprocket in the primary.

that is what i have always known as the counter sprocket, or maybe im mixing up designs from different manufactures

lol Mike ok i deserved that one...thats good, kudos to you... so much of what i have done has had different terminology... thanks guys for the info... and Mike i will get right on the GPS

when we use GPS its on her cell and she loves to tell me where to go... so she is my GPS.... and i better listen

I was told it's like a torque converter. I know if you Google it, it'll show you what it is because that's what I had to do, since I didn't know myself. I looked it up because mine went out a couple of weeks ago.

Its the big metal thing 40 year old men get for the first time. Usually to make up for their lost youth after watching SOA or something. Usually the big fiberglass thing known as a boat comes just before or after. LOL, joke roll!

lol i stepped into it with this one...lol.. hey but im learning.. im looking it up on google (thanks for the tip) and now its starting to make sence with other things, like hydrolic pumps on heavy equip... thanks guys for the razzing
