I've had the pleasure three times now, and will return every time I'm up in that area. Not only is it filled with decades of history, but Dale is one of the nicest people I've ever met. The last time we were there in April we got to talking with him, and although very busy he took the time to walk us around and show us some of his 'special' pieces-
Where it is and how you get there is a much fun as the museum itself, if not more. Point at any bike there, no matter how old and dilapidated, and ask Dale to start 'er up and he will. They all run. The guy is a God. Nicest guy in the world, too. We go every year on our annual Deal's Gap trip and Dale knows us all by name. Guy's got a great memory!
We've gone a couple of times. Only a couple of hours up the road from here. Last trip Dale took my wife out for a ride in a '32 hack. He and his son Matt are great people to talk to.
It is a great place to go. Dale is such a great guy. We lived in Maggie Valley for 3 years. There is some very good riding in the Great Smokey Mountains !!!
It's likely the coolest, most unique museum you'll ever visit. Dale is aa great guy and his enthusiasm is contagious. Ask him about any bike there and he will not only give you it's history, but will fire it up for you.
If you plan to stop in for an hour, just be prepared to be there much longer.
