I park in any legal spot. Never on a sidewalk or fire lane. That's just ignorant. Just because you own a Harley doesn't give you special rights. I've never had a problem with damage or vandalism.

The only time I park close is when I'm on my daughters scooter. I park it at the bike rack mainly because its so small someone could either throw it in the back of a truck or run it over not seeing it. Other than that I use regular spaces for the Harley but park out away from other cars.

depends if im riding i na group or alone. usually i nthe yellow striped area or i nthe designated handicapped spot if its close to the store i am going too. and before you all get your panties bunched up i have a permit to park in the handicapped spot issued to me and when i feel the urge i do use it. if in a group we geneally go to locations with paralel spots along the street and pack in 3-4 bieks to a singel spot anyway so donest matter to much

The only time I parked 'alternatively' was at a Target once, there was a huge paved area between the 2 front doors. As soon as I walked in the store I started thinking, damn I just put my bike on display for every redneck walking in/out, and worried about ppl f'ing with it. Quickly got my merch and got out of there. That was the last and only time I would do that.

The color of paint on the curb can also be an indicator if there is no parking on a sidewalk. Saw a man get in major trouble with a fire marshall because it was considered a vehicle obstructing a building.
