What about the Shark Raw Helmet that's sort of on the idea of the Bell Rogue but looks a lot better? I was thinking of getting the Arai Defiant but at $600 I got the new re-designed Bell Custom 500 in matte orange flake. No more mushroom head and the color is awesome.
That V8 helmet rocks. Looks slick. When I first got my Harley I wanted the half helmet look too. I'm a fairly smaller framed person so I couldn't find one that didn't make me look like a mushroom or ant. Lol. In the end, of course, safety prevailed....I'm on my second Shoei GTAir FF. First one I had was matte black with the white stripe. Then now I have the crazy detailed one. Love my helmets and still get tons of compliments on my current one super comfortable, great ventilation, fairly quiet and built solid. Even comes with an anti-fog shield and choice of replacement colors if you need them. Great helmet.
Find a store and try Shoei and Arai helmets. I found they fit my head the best. But then again I have a head like a Pterodactyl. Its pretty subjective due to different head shapes. When you find the one that fits you'll know it.
+1 on Helmet fit, I do not always wear a helmet but on long road trips I wear a FF modular. I have used a Nolan ,ok . I now have a schuberth ,pricey but very comfortable for me and great to flip it open at fuel stops.
I have a Shoei 1100 FF and I have an AGV/HD 3/4. I wanted a newer FF that was a little more comfy and I found the SHoei to be a little vision restrictive. I use the helmets on both my bikes...
My friends own an indy in NJ and they made this recommendations.. I got a Scorpion modular. VERY comfortable and the field of vision is excellent. Has the DOT but more important it has the higher European ratings..
I just grabbed a Kabuto Kamui and absolutely love it. Pin lock anti-fog, sunshade visor and the best helmet I've ever had to wear glasses with. It actually has a slot in the lining so glasses go on and off easy. Made in Japan instead of China. Oh and it only weighs about 3.5 pounds.
