Default Toe heel shifter.

Ok, I just bought a 2010 Fatboy a couple of weeks ago. My problem is that I cant seem to get used to using the toe heel shifter. I usually just use my toe. Am I the only one going through this small problem???

I have had a toe & heel shifter for so long that it would be hard for me to ride without it. But a lot of folks don't care for them. Nothing wrong with just using the toe only, you can leave the heel shifter in place or take it off. Decorative caps are available to cover the shaft it you decide to take it off. Also, you might want to adjust it up or down a notch to two to see if it feels more natural.

I had never used one til I bought my 'new to me' 2002 Heritage. Once I got used to it I only use the toe shifter to downshift.

I took my heel shift off after getting it caught in my pants leg/cuff at a stop.

I guess if I adjusted it to a different position that would help, but why bother!

Both Harley and Kuryakyn make a heel shifter that rotates 45 degrees back to allow more room. Especially for larger shoes.
I prefer the heel/toe shifter as it doesn't scuff the toe of my boots.

after years I still didn't like it either so I took it off and put the cap on the cover the exposed area on the shifter shaft.

Not a fan. I took mine off to have more room on the floorboard. I think it only originated to make the bike look like old harleys with the foot clutch.
