I'm always watching the new bikes coming out anyway but I don't think I'll buy anything but a HD even though there are some nice bikes out there in other brands.
I think I'd look at the competition in the models that compete.
For me that would be a GW but I wouldn't buy it - not old enough
I like the Rocket III but it doesn't have the storage - looks a bit different
Victory - looks too different for me
I really haven't seen a baggerthat compares with my Ultra but if you're going to spend that kind of money you should know whats out there - Then buy your Harley
I'm looking at a used stock '05 Road King to replace my Sportster, but if that deal falls through, I'm going to wait for the '08 announcements to see what Harley does in regard to their EPA-related issues. The standards become even more strict in CA in '08, so this will be critical. I'm also hoping they announce a V-Rod-based touring bike, which I'd buy in a heartbeat. In the interim, I'm shopping other makes of touring bikes, just in case Harley doesn't deliver on any of the above. My bottom-line requirement is that I be able to ride whatever it is as-is without any requirement to do a Stage-anything, or anything else, in order for it to run and perform as it should.
Im in Germany and already shopping for a BMW. Let's not get crazy, I'm not getting rid of my BOB but I like the boxster engine that BMW makes and I'm here so why not. I still don't know much about them so I don't know what model/year I might end up with. There is just something about that funky air cooled engine.
