Default Cell Phone stupidity

It seems like every time I look over into the cage next to me, I see the driver on the phone. I have had SOOOOO many people change lanes without looking or do other stupid things while talking on the cell phone.

I am of the belief that we need to have a law against talking on the phone while driving...well, maybe with the exception of hands-free systems (though there is info regarding this being just as dangerous anyway).

I know that some states have already legislated the use of cell phones while driving, but I would like to see more of it.

I know, I know, I used to do it too...but, I don't anymore.

Studies have shown it is the call itself that is the problem. And the reaction and reasoning capability under usage is comparable to being drunk. It needs to be treated as such and the people using their phones going to jail and losing their license to stop this road menace.

Or, we could all get biker whips with rocks in the end and bash some windows.

After two weeeks on holidays, I realized how much of a nuisance they really are. No longer have oneor want one. If you need to get ahold of me I will be the one on the 95 Ultra with the big *** smile, not worried about weather or not I am missing a call or not

Get an air horn and steel toed boots. That might help. It is my personal experience that some drivers suck, and then some drivers suck more with a phone in their hand. What I am trying to say is that even before the cell phone craze of recent years, it was dangersous and I would have close calls on the bike on a regular basis. Become a defensive driver and learn to anticipate the stupidest thing that the car in front of you might do, and it will happen to you one day. IMO staying safe on a bike is about steering ahead and anticipating as much as it is knowing how to control the bike. Be careful out there all...

Some might not agree with what I did today, but I'm going to tell ya anyway.

There were four of us out riding today, we were coming up on a mini-van doing 50 mph. And all of a sudden this jack-off moves into our lane almost clipped my front tire and almost ran another rider off the road. He caught a lower gear and flew by him. Anyway I pulled up next the van and to my surprise it was a guy on a cell phone. He had his window down, so I stayed right next to him revving my bike up for about a mile or so ruining his phone call. We all got stopped by a light we exchanged pleasantries. No road rage here had a good time with it after I cleaned the crap out of my pants from almost being killed bythecager.

I don't no if more laws are the answer (maybe they are), you see younger and younger kids getting there own cell phones all the time. Who they got to talk to when their 10 or 11 years old? It's a problem that is only going to get worse.

Personally, I have one of thosehelmet stickers on the right side of my lid that reads "Could you driver any better if that cell phone was up your a$$?" Whenever I see someone on a cell, I pull up beside them and ride until they look over. I point to my sticker and slowly pull away.
