Exactly!

Unfortunately some here think that the rest of us give a hairy rats hiney that they rode to the frickin moon and back on their 3 day weekend. All's that tells me is that they have nothing else going on in life besides straddling a man-made machine come hell or high water.

I prefer to know how long someone rides and not how far.

Miles are like tattoos, each one leaves a memory.

There will always be chest beaters they love to hear themselves talk. Some call it the little man syndrome and other things.

Would that not be "Read themselves type"?

So far I have only been able to put 300 miles on my bike this year .. In my defense though I haven’t been home since January.

Yeah, you've pretty much described my life these days. No wife, no kids, parents passed on, no house to maintain, the band broke up last year, so, yeah, no life.

Yeah, the mileage on my bike does come up in conversation because most people who see it for the first time think it's new. They're shocked when I tell them how old it is and how many miles are on it. I'm proud that I've had it so long, ridden it so far and taken such good care of it.
