Talking What would you choose? Help needed!!

I am planning to buy my first beauty in 3 weeks & till about a week back i was so confused with all the different versions, models and "dealers".

After an intense 3 day session & primarily thanks to this forum which motivates a newbie to no extent & some help from a fantastic guy at the dealership, i have finalized on 3 models....

- Softtail Breakout
- Fatboy Lo
- Street Bob

Any personal choices, opinions, inputs. Based on ride comfort, style, capability to build the bike further etc. Thanks in advance!!

A quick note about myself: Male, 6'.0''...close to 200 lbs. White Collar for the week...."hoping" to be wild HOG for the weekends!

Street Bob's a whole different ride from the other two. Great bike though I rode one for many years. But I've gone to the Softail world and wouldn't have it any other way. Personally the Fatboy Lo is more comfortable to me.

So by the looks of your 3 final choices, you don't really plan on doing much touring? Or if you do, you'll have to add bags and maybe a shield? If you think that's a possibility, I recommend you give a Softail Heritage another look. Comes with the bags, back seat rest, and shield, and you can take all of that off in a couple minutes to give you the bar-hopper look. Very versatile bike.

If you like mid controls get the Bob - it's probably the lightest bike of the three and you can throw it around like a Sportster. The only problem with the Bob is lack of good mounting spots for bags because of the chopped fender. The Fatboy is a great bike for long hauls and just about any bag/shield combo will fit it. It's like a Mac Truck on the Interstate and with a back rest you can cruise all day long. Don't know anything about the Breakout.

Not necessarily. I wasn't. I've owned three baggers, two E-Glides and a Road King Classic, and I didn't like any of them. I went along with what everybody told me...... "get a bagger, you're getting old......baggers are what you'll end up with anyway, etc."...... and let them talk me into three different ones over about 15 years. They all bored the snot out of me! I got tired of that, and I told myself that I was gonna ride what I wanted. This whole thing of "everybody REALLY wants a bagger" is BS. As to the OP.....I like the Breakout, but if you want a bike to "ride" get a Dyna.

I'd take a new Low Rider over any of the three listed.
