my bike started running crap a couple of weeks ago. First it wouldn't tick over then it started racing then wouldn't tick over again. Fault was diagnosed to the idle air control. New part fitted and reset procedure followed but now the engine is racing from start up and will not settle to tick over. Starting to get worried that the ECU is to blame. Forgot to mention that it's now displaying the error code P0122 for the throttle position sensor. Any ideas?

 

replace the TPS

it's rare to have a bad ECU, the unit only does what it's told by the sensors on the bike

 

Yes there could be a problem with the throttle position sensor.
