I'm a pretty intimidating guy. I'm 6'5" really big, and sleeved on both arms. I always wear a cut when I'm on the bike. Most metric riders show respect by not making eye contact, and are pleasantly surprised when I speak to them. Most Harley riders will speak, but with due respect, and it's returned. It's funny to me how on their scooter, they have the "just out of prison" look, but when they are an arms length away, they tend to be more respectful. As for me, I don't care what you ride, badasses and douchebags ride whatever they choose. Show respect, get respect. Talk ****, spit blood.
I don't try to discriminate against other people and what they choose to ride. No nothing is as nice as a Harley but I wouldn't tell them that.
Now you hear the discussion about Harley riders being ignorant to others but is it really the other way around??? I never noticed this so much so until today. Hubby and I went for a ride today and we stopped and there were a bunch of other bikers already there. We got off and not one turned to say hi, they all stood with their backs to us.
We went about doing our thing and went in to Tim's to get a snack and I tried to make eye contact with one of the other ladies and no way would she even look at me.
So in your experiences, do you think it is them or us that is discriminating??
Two Irish men walk into a bar.
You thought one of them would have seen it!
This is a pro H-D forum.
I am pro Harley but I am not naive enough to think every metric rider on a V Twin is pro Harley. I have known many who are not and who in fact prefer the Raider and Road liner, Victory, over any Harley, who prefer Gold Wings and Honda Shadows the same. I love the HD brand and what it represents. Not everyone does.

maybe she didn't find you attractive, or doesn't swing that way. sounds like you got rejected. Im just sayin.
On our trip this year we stayed at a best western in Maggie Valley, NC. There was a small group of HD riders about 3 doors down from us. One guy had a really nice bike.
I told him so and was pretty much ignored. We returned the favor the rest of the time they were there. Not sure what was up his ***, but after that I could care of less. Its not always non HD riders.

Just because people wear a cut doesn't get any respect from me. Some of the biggest ******** I ever met are in a so called MC and seem to want that
bad boy image. So your big and have TATS. that could be intimidating to anyone. Biker or not. Not sure what due respect means. Do people have to say sir to you cause you wear a cut?

I do feel sorry for washed up old patchouli oil wearin', Depends needin', Viagra dependent hippies that can't figure out why they ain't cool, even though they ride a Harley.

It's already here....I just don't hang on to all of the crap from my youth and then wonder why people don't think I'm hip anymore, like at least one of our friends here does.
Hold on a second.....I gotta go dig my Levi's Big Bells out'a the bottom drawer and find my old engineer boots and the key ring with the 4" Crescent wrench on it and put on my cleanest Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirt and head on out to the singles bar in my '77 Monte Carlo with the 8 track in the dash.
