So I just bought my first harley and i have the bike for 400 miles, my oil pressure light comes on, so i checked the oil and it was to the bottom line almost empty... i put more oil in it to the correct level and the light still stayed on.. for like a day and a half of riding. so i take it to the dealership and the light had turned off by then.. they say they cant find anything wrong.. is this just a loose wire connection? any thoughts?
No leaks, no nothing? I'd be wanting the dealership to explain to me where the hell all the oil went on a brand new bike first off. Did you ride it after you topped it off with oil?>
Also, may have better luck in the sportster section.
yea i couldnt find any leaks.. and would like to know where all the oil went. they said they couldn't find any problems.. i guess ill just have to hope if anything happens my 2 year factory warranty will cover it but im still kinda uneasy about the whole thing.
put a oil pressure gauge in place of the sender , just to check real pressure.
some senders are flakey.
oil bag being low , should not affect pressure .
yes i took it to the dealer and the light went off by then. they said they checked everything and it looked fine. I guess ill take their word since im not a mechanic. I checked the oil when it was hot, I believe thats how it is done? Im new to Harleys like I said. Honestly I didnt know if it was a low oil light or pressure light because my salesman forgot to give me a manual.
