The last few weeks I have been crazy busy. Have not had time to install my apes.
So I took it to a local Indy shop and they installed then. All is well except one thing.
When I left the shop I killed the motor (I know....) and with the clutch still in I pushed the restart button and nothing happened. I had to put back into neutral to start it. It always started before this whenever it happened.
The Indy shop guy said to ride the bike. The PCM has to "relearn" because of the wiring extensions
Not sure I believe that.
Good for you, don't.
The indy likely screwed up the wiring for the clutch interlock when wiring the bars.
It won't hurt anything, other than you'll have to be in neutral to start the bike.

That's exactly the problem. The clutch switch (which is located in the clutch lever) just completes the start circuit like the neutral switch does. Take it back and tell him to fix it.
I took it back to them. Told them I am no expert, but I know it's not right. I asked them to at the minimum pull the fairing and test those specific wires to ensure they work. I am leaving to Minneapolis and will get back Sunday. Then leave Tuesday for Sturgis. The owner tried to push back when I called, but I told him that the several people I spoke with all agreed there was something not right.
Drop it or off Friday.....they did not look at it again until I stopped in this morning. They "said" they checked the wires and it was a bad switch, so I drive 3 hours to get the part since the local place was out if it (that's a theme too).
Get back with the part and it was not the problem. So the guy takes the fairing off and looks at the wire extensions and discovers a broken wire (or one not completed).
Wouldn't one want to check that work first before chasing down switches and fuses and such? The guy that fixed it today was not the one who did the wiring. That guy was fired after 2 weeks for crappy work.....
