Once per year. Throttle, clutch and brake. I use AMSOIL MP HEAVY DUTY METAL PROTECTOR. Goes on wet, dries to a wax like film thats slick and hard. Does not attract dirt and grime and lasts all year. I also give my jiffy stand and passenger floor board hinges an occasional shot. I love the stuff.
FYI, a throttle cable will last approximately 18500 without lube....then break

Okay, I change my vote I'll do it this riding season. My bike is at 16,500 mile.So I went out and bought the protecall.
$20 for a adapter and lube is cheaper than a broken cable andno beers on thethe side of the road.
