Default Do you lube your cables?

Well a week to go before I put the bike back on the road. Been going over every thing to get her ready, but I havn't lubed the cables yet and am thinking, do I really need to?

Who all of you out there do or don't worry about them?

Just curious, but I think I'll pass on doing it again this year.

Put me down as procrastinate.

Happy riding.

there is cable lube that evaporates moisture and leaves a film of Teflon or something called "cable life". more information here:
http://www.protectall.com/cable_life.htm

they even put a pic of a bike that might be a harley on the page...

I use Rem Oil. I do it a couple of times a year.

For the throttle's I just crack open the throttle housing and spray lube in the well where the cable's metal end snaps in. The lube will pool up and drip down the cable.

For the clutch, I take the cable out of the perch, cut the corner out of a ziplock baggie, stick the cable end thru the hole and rubberband the bag around the cable. Then spray some lube into the bag corner and hang the cable up as high as I can so the lube runs down the cable.
