I'm planning to swap my stock air filter for a K&N. When I do, should also have my fuel injection setup recalibrated?
Thanks!
Here is my .02 Your Harley, along with everyone else stock Harley is inherently lean from the factory for EPA and emissions stuff. So, a first upgrade, FOR ME (remember this is just my free .02 worth) would be to get a power commander, PV or FP to richen up that overly lean mixture. So throwing on a replacement K&N filter, assuming they breathe better and flow more air, you are making the bike a bit leaner. Just food for thought.
Makes sense.I followed similar logic when I bought my car (a 2006 diesel smart). In that case, a kid with a fancy laptop came to my home, plugged it into the car's computer box, and - presto! - a serious boost in its horsepower.
Power Commander and the like have significant price tags. Wouldn't it make as much sense to have my H-D dealer recalibrate the fuel injection settings? (Not that that wouldn't be pricey too, but...)

Correct! Do not use the dealer with a worthless AND EXPENSIVE download. I would look for a used powercommander in the classifieds on the forum. I've done that with great results. Keep looking, one will pop up.
