I'd add. Dump the fuel out of the tank. Look for water in the fuel. Replace the plugs if the diaphragm is OK.. Check Battery terminals..

Auto's do not have this only motorcycles, atv, ect -- you might also try to find a parts brake down , If the o-ring is there you will only find it in a over haul kit --- I hope that's it -- a easy fix , many people replace the whole carb because of this 10 cent O-ring
If you're referring to the washer and oring and spring, I did makes sure they were there. And, the bike idles fine.
I also talked to someone, said it might be the voltage regulator?
Have you been using ethanol gas ??? the fuel pump might not be getting enough gas due to a small hole that feeds it --- clogged because of ethanol gas -- then the bowl needs to soak in a strong carb cleaner , that might be a good idea anyway , just don't put the float in the cleaner
I have had a bad battery cause a Ign, problem -- low amps but yours is on acceleration
Yeah, it's a bit strange. I really think it's related to the ignition. Tonight I changed the coil. The bike starts and idles, and as it's sitting there warming up, the engine surges in RPM and sounds like it's firing on two cylinders, then it 's like it's only firing on one. Just back and forth like that, just sitting there idling.
I would really go with the carb cleaning and check for manifold air leaks , the gas we get is JUNK ethanol is corn starch that clogs things up that set for more than a couple of weeks at a time , you can't see it in the small holes cause it looks like a spider web I have had to push a drill bit through jets to open them up

I'll give it another cleaning, but I don't think we have ethanol here in California.
Now I'm talking about soaking the carb in carb cleaner that you buy in a bucket not a spray can , at $25 for 1gal that' a lot to maybe never to use again so take your carb to a auto machine shop and they might be $5 or $10 , that stuff really cleans things up , don't put the float in that cleaner . I have a feeling you will like the out come, ethanol is country wide
