Talking oil change time?

Just purchased a 2015 VRod with under 100 miles on it. Should I change the oil and filter as the bike is 2 years old, regardless of the low miles?

I would not be concerned about it. My concern would be is the speedometer/odometer the original.

Should be able to look at the tires to see if the bike has been used.

motor oil turns acidic in aluminum blocks when it sits in a motor after awhile. This is why the moco says to change oil before winter storage.Oil is cheap the bike is not,i would loose it for new.

Change all fluids and filter, plus brake fluids, give it a fresh start in life. If you intend servicing it, please get yourself a genuine FSM first - it will earn its keep with your first service!

It isn't the first bike with a very low mileage - a little while ago a pre-WW2 bike was put up for sale with 30 miles on the clock - the original owner frightened himself witless on it and, after getting home from the dealer, never rode it again!

I always change the fluids on anything that I buy. Gives me a chance to look for possible problems, run the fluids I like, and have a positive start on my maintenance schedule for the rest of the time I own the machine.

Have to agree. All fluids should be changed regardless of miles. Not only does the oil turn acidic in the sump and tank like 1340Hog said, but it also collects moisture and super saturates. Most people do not ride the bike long enough or hot enough to burn this moisture out of the oil.

Change it.
