Hi I have a 2012 FXDC and wanted to make up a tool kit to carry around with me. Does anyone have a list of tools I should carry in case of trouble?
Thanks.
Small allen wrench set
4in1 screwdriver
Two small adj. wrenches.
Tie wraps
Wire cutters -small
Spare fuses
Spark plug socket and small ratchet handle
Two spare spark plugs
I keep a small jump starter, tire plugs and small air compressor in my back pack.
Wideglide's list reads pretty much as the contents for my own small kit! Having been caught out in France on a Sunday when nothing was open with a puncture an absolute must for me are as mentioned above a plug kit and inflator. Am well aware of the properties of Ride-On Puncture Prevention but it is something I have not used as yet!
Timely question, I am putting a simple kit together myself. I can tell you this based on my trip a few weekends ago, get a few thick zip ties or bailing wire - especially if you run the stock shifter linkage.
Other than that I have:
T27 torx driver
6" adjustable wrench and 8" knipex pliers wrench
Assortment of Allens
Multitool
Thinking of adding a nice Wera multibit tool to simplify some of the above...just researching which one covers my needs best..
