Is this a normal dealer response?
The Dealer has the latitude to do what they want and whom , if they want.
If they wanted, they could cry crocodile tears to HD and get a rep to approve.
If they wanted to, the dealer would go out on a limb and would cover you.
simple.
There is no giant policeman in the back monitoring their every move.
Obviously, they don't "want" to help you.
Your recourse-?
Did they tell you your warranty would be canceled if they did whatever they are now saying they should not have?
Then why did they?
First -a polite conversation with the owner of the shop or his top manager.
Not the service manager.
Next, if they have no proof they explained this to you- in writing, that your warranty would be voided-
A letter from your ATTORNEY is the next recourse.
SUE THEM>!
Print it out & take it to the dealer, have them point out the section that says they HAVE TO flag YOUR bike. Have a crowd of people around, if possible do it near the sales floor.
