Default Clutch question

I replaced the levers on my 07 Softail, when doing so I adjusted the clutch just a bit, my question is now I am unable to start the engine unless I am in neutral. I thought that I was able to start the engine with it in gear and the clutch pulled in. This does not hinder me in any way however, I wanted to make sure that I will not mess anything up leaving it the way that it is now.
Thanks

In 07 harley added a switch in the left housing so if the clutch is not pulled in you can only start in neutral,so in changing the levers something is now different...poss broken switch wire or maybe the design of the levers?

Thanks, I prefer only being able to start in neutral. Wanted to make sure that I was not endanger of messing up the clutch in anyway.

Same problem here, have a 07 FLTR, and put the buckshot levers on and lost the capability to either engage the clutch or be in neutral, according to the book. Now have to be in neutral, pain sometimes on a hill. Mother harley shouldn't sell parts that say 07 with engineering the problems.

Part II, talked with mother harley today, in Mar 06 they changed the parts numbers for levers. Make sure your part number ends with -07, it will work and the clutch will again work. My dealer sold me a old set that was on the shelve, -02, same price, no increase to the -07. but the earlier part numbers will not work with the 07's and up. for example my installed part number is 45430-02, current is 45430-07, if only ordering one lever, the clutch, it is part number 46215-07. So there you go, with the right part the system will work as designed.
