Default 2015 Limited Computer

So as not to sound dumb, the Harley dealer reprogrammed the computer so the running lights would stay on when I turn the high beams on. Is there system that can be purchased to do those type of changes? or is it included in the pro tuners you can buy to re-calibrate your system for when you add up grades.

Tuners of for the engine. I believe only the dealers have the software to manipulate the ECM to do the type of flashes you had done.

Dave, have you had any problems with your lighting since the dealer changed it? Also did they say why the running lights are set up to cut out when you go to high beams? Could it be too much drain on the system. Thanks

My mechanic did this for me too. He said that Harley sets it up to turn off the running lights when the high beam is turned on because it's an standard industry practice. All the cars I own turn off the running lights and/or fog lights when the high beams are turned on as well.

All they said was most people would rather have the lights stay on when the high beam Is used. They agree that it would be safer for the operator this way. That is why they had problem doing it for me for free. In a 4 wheeled vehicle, it make since, you have lights on each side of the car, at least 3 plus feet apart. Motorcycles have one plus the two lights right next to it if they are installed. As for drain, that should be a moot issue. You can still turn them off when you do not want them on, only thing that changed is when you go to High Beam, they stay on instead of going off.

It's not the ECM. It's the BCM.
