Hi, all,

What rear shocks are best for an old Vet with a bad back?

Thanks

The ones on my Pontiac Bonneville.
Be careful putting too long of shocks on the rear without raising the front forks too. You'll end up with a high speed wobble. You lose stability with the *** end up higher than the front.

Default Best Shocks ?

Had reconstructive back surgery. Four disks removed, 360 degree fusion, titanium cage, rods and screws. Cut front and back. IMHO any quality after market shock is better than stock..l went with
jri-b models from Howard when he carried them. Great product, vast improvement over stock. Can't go the distance or for as long as I once could on a long ride.l wear a back a line brace on long rides. Anything is better than the stock shocks..

IMHO, Seat with rider backrest, bars and high quality shocks and cartridge fork internals will help greatly, seat first. Worked for me. I have Mustang solo, sits me back, 12" bars with better grip angle (14" probably would have been better), and 13" Ohlins, "Smarty" a.k.a. Carol Burks walked me through setup, on the phone while I was doing it...this made a huge difference, great customer service...there's alot to be said about the setup vs just bolt-on....hit him up..

Apes are way more comfortable on my lower back. You tend to sit straight and not slouch.
