I'm looking for some help with my 2021 FXST. I went to go for a ride first time in 2 weeks and my throttle is staying open slightly, idling about 1500-1800 rpm. I can roll the trottle forward slightly and it returns to a normal idle, but opens right back up as soon as I release. The bike will cruise around 30 mph on its own in 4th gear. Is there any way to adjust the throttle, or any idea what would have caused this? The bike was running fine last time I rode. Any advice would be appreciated before the Harley shop says it's not an issue covered under warranty lol Thanks
Why would the HD shop say that? The bike is under FULL warranty unless you've mucked around with it.
I'd hope they wouldn't it. When I called they mentioned something about an adjustment it needed. I just always expect to be charged when I go in there. Felt like they might think it was something that I did while I was riding.
Don't touch the throttle .. kill switch in the run position ...
Turn ignition switch on, wait for engine light to go off (10 seconds), turn ignition off (10 seconds).
Do this 4 times, then start the engine. This resets the computer.
Note: when shutting down the engine make sure it's at idle. Don't blip the throttle, and don't shut it down on cold idle. The computer remembers the last rpm at shutdown and sets the idle to that.
