Hey folks,
Like many others I have a problem with dripping/seeping grease out of the steering head of my '07 Deluxe. I've just been wiping it off, no biggy, right? However, when I waxed my front fender today (first time in a long time) I noticed what appears to be drip marks in the clear coat. Hard to see, but easy to feel. The droplets are worst directly under the steering neck anddrip down on both sides of the back of the fender. I tried polishing them out with scratch remover to no avail. Has anyone else seen this? This should be covered under warranty, right?
Greg
I am having the ame problem with the grease leakage which I was told by the dealer is normal and will stop eventually. I make sure to wipe any up after every ride and I've only had my bike 3 weeks so no paint problems. Mine is also an '07 Deluxe. I wonder if any other models are having the same issue.
There is supposed to be a grease that won't do this. However I dont have the info on this computer. Talk to a NAPA store ,there is a special grease that wont leak due to high temps.
I have a lawn biz and of course you know that requires lots of bearing greasing...
Lucas Oil puts out a grease called "Red & Tacky" that I don't have one bit of problem with. No seepage, drippage...whatever.
Yes, I use it on my Hog. I will say one thing that MANY people do...squirt too much. It only takes 3 squirts or so if you're doing it on a regular basis. No need to squirt it until you see it ooze out.
