Default Is there a Torx 43 bit?

I went to install a chrome oil filter cover on my RK today. This is a Harley part and with the kit they supplied all the necessary hardware. There's a bracket that holds the cover in place. It bolts to the frame.

A T40 is a little too small for the screw that came in the kit.. If I try torque the bolt to the required ft/lbs, it slips. The next size I have is T45. It's way to big, doesn't fit. What size Torx am I looking for?

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it's not an Allen? Link to the kit?

What's the part number of the HD kit? Did you try to lookup the fastener part number to determine the size?

Great idea!!... The kit describes the fasteners as Socket Head Screws. The screw part number is 3228.

I looked up the part number and discovered they are HEX head screws, not Torx.. Duh..... I guess I need glasses more than I need tools

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction..

^^^ Everyone that has worked on a Harley has been bit by the Torx vs. Hex snafu.

Welcome to the club!! I've worn glasses since I was about 12. Had cataracts removed couple year ago and have so-so distance vision, but can't see crap up close!! Don't sweat this too much. We all make those little mistakes!! Just glad you got it resolved!
