Yes, I believe you are right about the 316 strength. Was thinking about my days designing piping and using A/SA193-B8(304) and B8M (316) bolts. Not grade 8. Brain fart.
I have welded 17-4 before. I think ARP stainless bolts are something else. They look like a 300 series stainless to me. Polished up nice too
