Henderson ain't that far for me.............. that's what I think about that sir.
Might need to schedule a road trip. $350 aint bad at all!
Anybody else do just their own Heim Joint adjustment? I'm sure all the adjustments are in the FSM's but what speciality tools are needed to do all the rest of the alignment after the heim joint?
He says right in the beginning that the shocks must be removed as they affect the measurement. So I went out to measure my 2014 Limited with shocks attached. Both sides measure the same. Since I ride with the shocks attached, I’m not perusing this any farther. Just my “free” opinion…..

You have a point for sure. With both of my bikes I dont notice any alignment issues. Now with the FLDE I once had there was something off.
If the engine is locked down in the frame how is that adjustable heim joint going to move the engine left or right when it's tightened to the top motor mount?

Me thinks that if the heim joint, attached to the engine strap, pushes the top of the engine to the right just a bit, the movement would be absorbed thru the rubber engine mounts at the bottom of the engine?
I do know, that on my bikes, when taking the shocks on/off, one side will line up nice and pretty and I can start the bolts by hand, but I have to mess around the the swingarm height to get the other side to start. Might be because the alignment is off?
I'll have to check my swing arm..
Several months ago I decided to see if my motor was off to the frame and came up with a shrewd way of checking the motor position in the frame.
What I did do on my 2013 Dyna was I took the seat off and put a level perpendicular to the frame on the top 2 rails and then used shims between my lift and lower frame rails to get the bike as vertical as possible.. Yes bike was strapped to the lift..
Then I removed the Air cleaner assembly and put my 2nd level vertical across the face of the throttle body and found that my motor was leaning to the right. So I adjusted the Heim joint to bring it level with the other level and believe it or not it was a big improvement on the handling of the bike..
It's not perfect but is a lot better than it's ever been..
I will try the drop down method of the swing arm and go from there..
