hiflo and K&n are totally different products, manufactured totally different, with their products having totally different results. And an engine racing on a road track is actually a really good indicator of product quality. But hey. Let your ignorance of facts drive your opinion. No problem. SMH.
my information is completely based on published facts - which I can support with actual data. Yours is , well, um, yeah. Ok. A broken clock is right twice a day. Congrats.

The AFIAK the serious problem was with early KnNs.. The threads were too far from the gasket. Pump didn't blow out the filter but if the stud in the filter mount came loose, it could thread itself into the filter enough to strip out the filter boss then the filter would fall off.. Don't ask me how I know..
Newer KnNs looks the same as Proflow.. I've used all 3.
KnN doesn't make oil filters. They make air filters. I suspect that the oil filters are farmed out.. Especially after the early KnN fiasco.

No, the serious problem started in 2015, and was related to welds and crimps failing on the filter body resulting in catastrophic failure during operation. Filters never came off. Never unthreaded. Never got loose. The metal filter body failed and didnt contain the oil.
you are correct in that K&n outsourced manufacturing of oil filters. Quality dropped when they changed to a contract manufacturer in china with lower quality assurance.

Well. I've not seen them blow out and been running them on TCs since about 2002.. Built motors. Cold pressure of 60psi. You say they had issues in 2015. Were they HD filters or some other one.. Maybe ones on plain bearing motors where the pressures were higher..

The problem was that there was a big enough gap between the threads on the filter inside and the treads on the filter base that the threaded part of the filter boss could come loose and thread itself into the filter. It would loose enough threads in the boss that the first thread in the aluminum filter boss could fail an the filter simply fell off.. I had it happen while passing a car on a twisty road. Later versions moved the threaded boss in the filter closer to the filter face so it wouldn't happen.
