The inner shield flips up with a second control on the helmet side, just like USAF Fighter helmets.....Double shield system. Flip up inner shield at night, have it during day!
I agree with anti-fog stuff and also opening the shield one click. One other thing, does your Shoei have a removable breath-guard inside it at the front? If it does, lift it out and never use it again. In my experience, that actually diverts your breath closer to the shield and makes the problem worse rather than better.

I didn't have the breath-guard when I bought the helmet. I didn't know there was such a thing. I bought one and tried it out and it seems to work ok... hadn't had the chance to try it on the road yet as NJ weather has SUCKED lately... We'll see whats up soon as some of this snow leaves.
