im not a harley owner nor do i know much about them but i'm a stereo isntaller and recently my shop put a cd changer in the back of a customers harley. He had the factory tape deck with aux input and didnt want to replace it to loose the handle controlls. SO we put in the rf mod changer but hte problem is, it skips like crazy. I was wondering if anyone has ever been successful with installing one of these and if so how did u get around the unit skipping? we cant think of anything that would fully help this. ALSO i was wondering if anyone has changed the radio and used an integration device like one from PIE to keep the hanle bar controlls.
Harley makes a CD changer that installs in the tourpak. I don't know what keeps it from skipping but it works just fine. This unit was stock on the 2001 Screamin' Eagle Roadglide.
the customer told us that the unit is 850 from harley and he wasnt looking to spend that much. i think we're going to end up jsut puttin in a cd player and using a steering wheel controll adapter but we figured since the cd change is installed.. lets try to get it perfect
A buddy of mine put in a Sony changer in the (trunk) Musta worked about 4-5 years before it started to skip. He then put it his van. Still there and not skipping at all. I put a cheaper brand in mine. Work maybe 2 years before it wouldn't hold a CD in.
I switched to a MP3 player-Never looked back.
