Stop Stop Stop. Do NOT drill out the screw as you would for an easy-out; it's too small, and you'll end up boogering up the hole. Instead, all you want to do is drill the HEAD off the screw by drilling a small, shallow hole in the middle, then widen it with a larger bit, etc. When the head pops off, there'll be enough of the screw left protruding for you to grab it with pliers and turn it out. I just did this; it works.

I agree... the screw is already ruined. With a button head cap screw, the stripped out hex area gives you a great pilot hole to help center the bit. Take a drill bit one size larger than the thread diameter (a #10 screw has a 3/16" diameter). Drill carefully until the head of the screw pops off. Once the part in question is removed, simply turn out the threaded shank with a pair of pliers.
