Default Throttle hard to pull (cable)

I was forced to leave my bike outside for a couple of days. Unfortunately, we've gotten dumped on these past two days in FL. This morning when I left the throttle was real hard to pull but it snapped back. I've had a push cable hang up before but never the other way around. The throttle screw is not tightened. The cables are still routed properly. Everything looks good at the throttle body. There is still a little play between the grip and the switch/throttle housing. I don't see how any water could have gotten in there but even if it did, could it possibly have any effect on the cables? I will be able to pull it apart this afternoon but in the meantime I figured I'd see if anyone has experienced a similar situation. Very strange.

I'm sure water would not help.
The cables may just need to be lubed.
Also check the cables at the twist grip end.The cables have a tendency to break at the ball.

sounds like you must have gotten some of that downpour water into your cable. wd-40 is weird stuff. weirder yet is why i know the reason it's named wd-40. it's not a very good lube, basically a clean version of kerosene, but it stands for water displacement, 40th formula. it does a good job of displacing moisture because it contains also alcohol. along with an interesting scent. it would sure help a lot to loosen your adjustments one at a time, and using the small wd-40 tube inject as much of it into the cable where you got lots of slack from adjusting it inward. work the cable back and forth, then take it back to its original setting, then do the other one. one is push and one is pull. it sounds like it's going to be an easy fix. i'd then use some actual cable lube after getting it freed up. i hope it works out for you. but that's the first place i would look, is at the cable getting wet inside. i hope this helped you some.

I haven't signed on here in a while but thanks for your input. All they needed was some lube.
