Guessing: I believe there is a connector on the back of the radio unit. Try pulling the power connector from the unit and then reinstall it. Probably best to remove seat and disconnect battery first! If the display contrast comes back, it was just a loose connector. If the contrast does not come back after doing this, well, it probably needs looking at. If it does not come back, I don't know if just the display can be replaced.
